Holiday Cheer!

Ok, ready for a good dose of Holiday Cheer? There is lots of that this time of year... You see the signs everywhere, the radio commercials, the television ads. Come and buy stuff and you'll bee cheerful! But that doesn't seem to last that long, does it? Feels good for a little while.

But what is Holiday Cheer really? It's nothing outside you. You can't buy it in a store. You won't find it at the shopping mall. Where can I get a big cup of the original stuff?

It all comes from within you. It comes from making a difference in your own life. You accomplished your goal. You made something happen. You helped someone get something done.

Automatically the smile comes out. A real genuine smile. One that lasts longer than 5 minutes. One that you will think about later and smile again. And the more you make moments like that in your life happen, the more cheerful you will be in your daily life.

So drink up some Holiday Cheer by helping out a friend, helping yourself with your goals, and watch the smiles come out! You'll be glad you did.

Happy holiday thoughts....

The President of your own life.

(Originally posted on Sept. 5, 2008)

In this political season, we hear all these promises of how this is going to happen and that will be done, but in reality, it's up to you how your life is going to go.

It's time to become the President of your own life. Hold yourself accountable for what is happening in your world. Hold yourself to high values and ideals. Hold your head up high and walk with a purpose in your life. Do unto others as they would do unto you. Be respectful, and passionate about your life. Treat yourself well.

Become the President of your household. Get things done. Ask yourself, "As President, what should I do?" and the answers will come to you. In your Presidency, what are your goals? Set a timeline for accomplishment and stay on course.

Presidents work with others to get things done. Work with friends, neighbors and associates. Find common ground. Build those relationships. You will achieve great things.

Dress like a President. Keep yourself well groomed. Look sharp. People notice. People respect you. People will look up to you.
People will listen to you. You are becoming a leader.

Become the President of your own life and your world will be a better place!

Weekend Goals

(Originally posted on Sept. 12, 2008)

Ok, so your goals for this weekend are what? Did you write them down? Are you clear on your task? Do you clearly see what the results will bring you?

That is probably the most important part. Look what will happen once you achieve your goal? Feel the results! It feels great! Look how you see yourself once that goal is accomplished. Look in the mirror. What do you see? Pride, achievement, success, great self worth!

That is what you get when you accomplish a goal. Feel great today. Achieve your goal and tell me about it right here on this site. Be the example for others. Because you deserve the results you get!

If you need assistance, feel free to contact me.

Fear or Failure - A Must Read

(Originally posted on Sept. 23 2008)

Hi,
How are you doing? What kind of trouble have you got yourself into these days? Do you have everything you want? And I mean EVERYTHING?

Why aren't we all success stories? We should be, right? It's what we all want, isn't it? Is it Fear? Are we afraid of something? Is it the Fear of Failure? "I don't wanna fail, so if I don't do it, I won't fail!"

What the heck is that? But many of us think that way. "I'm scared of Failure..." What about the Dark? Are you still afraid of the dark? No, you just turn on the light, right. How hard is that. You turn on the switch, right? The first time you had to find the switch. But once you found it, you knew you could do it.

I want you to try to fail. Yes. Try to fail. Make the attempt to achieve your goal. I want you to fail many times. But I'll tell you, after a while, you'll get so sick of failing, you'll achieve your goal and move on.

You see, each time you "fail" you are making an attempt to accomplish something. Each time you learn something new. And after a while, you will stop failing and start to accomplish something.

You should embrace your fear. Fall in love with your fear. And as soon as you do that, the fear disappears. Fear is a big chicken, a a scaredy cat! Fear runs a way at the first sign of confrontation.

I DARE you to face your fear. And once you do... you'll be so much happier, so much more confident.

Achieve your goals. I want to hear all about it!

The Crazy Economy

(Originally posted on October 6th 2008)

Hi,
Great to write to you once again.

Oh boy... what the heck is going on? Is the sky falling? Are we all in trouble? It depends on how you look at it. If all the politicians came out and said

"We have an economic challenge ahead of us, we all need to take a step back and evaluate the situation. So all of us need to see how each of us can make sure we keep our house in order, and your federal government will take a wise approach to resolve this situation."

But NO! What did we hear? "This is a disaster" "It's the greatest failure since the Great Depression" "The stock market will crash" "Everyone will lose!"

So what happened? People pulled their money out of the market, the market goes down, and everyone loses.

So how do we resolve this situation. We have to start with ourselves. In any situation, we have to take a moment to look at what is going on and look for a positive resolve. "Ok, here is the situation, what result do I want out of it?"

See, you take control of your emotions, understand the situation, put the question of a positive result, and you are now on your way to getting real answers.

Now in the case of this economy, or as some call it, "A Recession" what do you do? Get a recession-proof business. What? Yes. That way you don't have to deal with the changes of the economy.

"Dave, where do I find that?" Glad you asked. That's what Real Big Goals is all about. Once you are recession-proof, then you can get on with your life, put your ideas and family first, and never worry again about money.

I look forward to your comments as always!

Dreamer or Do'er

So which is it?

Are you a Dreamer? Do you have a thousand brilliant ideas? Any one of them could be the next big thing, right? "I know this would work if I could just..."

And then months later, someone comes out with just the thing. That person was the Do'er. They did it. Put their idea on paper, set a goal, made a decision. Put in a little bit of effort each day and achieved something solid.

Did you see that the Dreamer became the Do'er? Sure. It all starts with a dream. Make it a goal, and do something about it.

"But I can't.... " LOL that's a good one! then ask yourself this one question "If you could do it, how would you do it?" and write it down on paper. There's your goal. Get moving.

So, to conclude:

Dreamer + Goal + Do'er = Success!

Tell me what you've been dreaming about. Together we can put your ideas into reality. I'm looking to work with you!

Goals are the Winning Edge

Hi,
How was your weekend? Did you have fun? Did you take time out for yourself? I was thinking of you and have a wonderful story to share.

If you play any kind of sports, how do you win? By scoring goals, crossing the finish line, getting in the end zone, etc.

Do you see the enthusiasm and drive that these people have to score? They do whatever it takes to make the play, right? Of course they do. And when they score, they celebrate. Are they worried about what others think? No. They have a job to do. And they work tirelessly to get it done.

Life is the same way. EXACTLY. Set a goal, work tirelessly and score! You'll be celebrating too. And you'll become a better and stronger person because of it!

Now the trick is, what game should I play? Well ask yourself, what are you good at? If you could pick one thing, what would it be? Once you have done that, find others that do that thing...

I did that. I want to become a philanthropist. So I met philanthropists... Started asking questions. "How do you do that?" where can I learn those traits... And sure enough.. that put my on my path. So as I do what they do, I become what they have become, in my own special way.

(philanthropy is not for the money, its for the gifts of love, encouragement and wisdom you can give to empower others)

So find your goal, get your mentor, and start shooting baskets, take a swing, or run around the track... Do what you do and keep doing it. You'll get there. You have EVERYTHING to gain... and something more... Serendipity... the benefits unbeknownst to you that will magically appear before your very eyes because of this effort you make. (That's the real secret... Shhhh... don't tell anyone I told you that!)

Let me know what you have come up with and what I can do to help you achieve it!

Be, Do, Have! Wear it!

Ok Gang,
Show your gratitude for what you've got. Let others know that you are a higher minder individual. Watch the faces of people when they see this shirt on you. You will be surprised. You'll get a smile every single time.

On your mark, get set, Goals!

Often times, I hear that "My goals are out of my reach!" Ok, then start with ones that are within your reach. Make them easy... work up to them.

"Rome wasn't built in a day!"

But the fact is that Rome was built. It took time and some planning. Planning = Small Goals set to a timetable.

Set your small goals to a time table, and pretty soon you will start building your empire. It's not something that will come over night, but over time. Time will come eventually and it's up to you whether you do something with it or not.

So now is your time to set your Goal.
Set a timetable.
And go for it.

And when you achieve that goal, celebrate! Cheer! and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

But....

DO NOT GET COMPLACENT! Most people do. and the final work never gets done. Get back on the mark, get set and go all over again. Each time you achieve your goal, you're that much closer to building your empire for you, your family and the world around you.

Take pride in your accomplishments and I look forward to hear about your success!

S.M.A.R.T. Goals

How can I get my goals clear enough to manifest?

I don't have the focus?

Well, If you're like most of us, it tends to be a challenge to get your goals clear enough to manifest. It's not the hard work that you put it, but the S.M.A.R.T. work will give you the results you need, What are S.M.A.R.T. Goals?

S = Specific. Be very specific on what you want.
M = Means. What would this goal mean to you when achieved.
A = Attitude. Be positive, proactive. No Negative thinking.
R = Realistic. Is this something you can accomplish?
T = Timeframe. Set a specific time and date when this goal is to be accomplished.

When you have all these pieces in place, you give your subconscious the rules for getting this done. You become clear on your intentions and things will come into place for you.

Next time you have a goal, sit down with a piece of paper, or at your computer and do the following:

1. State your goal in one sentence.
2. Answer each S.M.A.R.T. question specifically.
3. Read them back to yourself with conviction.
4. Post this where you can read it each day at the same time.

And then GO FOR IT.

Chivalry is NOT dead, yet

This goes out to all my male friends and the women who still believe.

"Chivalry is NOT dead, yet" is a quote I came up with about 20 years ago. I was at a restaurant heading toward the door and noticed that a couple was having an argument.

The man was acting like a fool and stormed out the door in front of me. The woman, completely embarrassed stood there, frustrated left all alone. She was smartly dressed, and carried herself in a regal way. I thought to myself, "He obviously does not know how to treat her properly, acting the part of the fool. He really must not think much of himself."

As I looked at her, she glanced at me, and tilted her head down, as if to say "I feel terrible." I approached her, and held out my hand, and said "Let me walk you to the door". We walked to the door, I stopped and opened the door for her. Stood aside and let her pass. As she walked past me, I could see her start to smile. As we were now both outside, she stopped and looked at me.

"Chivalry is Not Dead, yet" I said. Where it came from, I don't know. It was just the right thing to say in the moment.

She walked straight up to me, kissed me on the cheek and said "Thank you so much. The world needs real men like you!" and then she walked away.

Chivalry is not just for princes or knights in shining armor. Chivalry is an act of kindness and respect for the women we meet in our life. Chivalry gives us a sense of our true self.

Become a model of Chivalry, amazing things will happen in your life. This should be one of your goals. Work at it. Open the door. Show respect. Hold your head high. Move forward in your world with the eyes of a Chivalrous man.
