The Greatest Goal of All

Hear Ye, Hear Ye:

"It is your absolute responsibility to LIVE UP TO YOUR POTENTIAL."

No one can do it but you.
You are not alone in this quest.
The World is filled with Mentors, Educators and Teachers.

You are the seed that grows.
You are nurtured by those closest to you.
You drink the water, eat the food.

You are full of life, yet something distracts you.
It is this distraction that hinders you from your duty.
It is the fulfillment of others on this same promise.
They have reached higher than you. I am a failure.

In the eyes of the Universe there is no comparison.
There is no judgement.
You are on your own journey as they are on theirs.
There is no failure. There is no mistake.

Live your life. Go on your quest. That is why you are here.
What you do leaves a trail for others to follow.
Make your life your greatest adventure of all.

Do not be afraid of this responsibility.
There is nothing to fear at all.
You are where you are right now,
because you have chosen to be here.

Choose to be on the top of the mountain.
Choose to be with your true love.
Choose to be in counsel with your mentor.
Choose to be the provider for your family.

You are the best one for the job.

Take that responsibility and live up to your potential.
It is not only your goal, but your duty as a human. You were designed for it.

"Reach for the stars and let the Universe take care of the details"

Make this weekend an adventure to remember.
And then tell me about it.

As Always,

What Retirement Plan?

One of your long term goals should be a retirement plan. The fact is that most of us don't plan for that. Or should I say "Plan Enough Money" for that.

If you want to life fairly well in your retirement years, you probably need about 5 million dollars (US) if you want to do it correctly.

WHAT??!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

No I'm not. You may live for a very long time. You may have financial challenges that arise from health and wellness issues. There is a whole myriad of stuff that can come up. Plus, you want to still enjoy your life in your retirement.

Retirement does not mean "I'm old and now I'll stay home and watch tv." Retirement means: To leave one's job and ceasing to work."

My Definition is: Ceasing to work for someone else and get on with living!"

I have friends that have retired in their 30's and 40's. Do you think they stay home? No Way! They wake up in the morning when they want to. Most of them don't keep track of the days of the week. They are off on adventures all around the globe. They are visiting family and friends. They have ideas and inventions they want to see come to life. It's an amazing thing.

Self Made Millionaires

These friends are all self made. They didn't get an inheritance. Nor were they geniuses or all college graduates.

They do all have one thing in common: REAL BIG GOALS.

They have the goals and the will to follow through with them. Many of them started out working for someone, but then decided to work for themselves in their own business. Working with mentors and a team, they did what needed to be done on a consistent daily basis.

They didn't listen to anyone who said NO.

You see they had mentors. Mentors who said "YES". Mentors who had done the work. Mentors who walk the path and have become great successes. Mentors who give the proper guidance for success.

And do you know what Mentors want most of all? They want their pupils to succeed. Be the next generation of success stories. For them to become mentors themselves and take on that role.

Did you know that the best Mentors around the globe have mentors also? Absolutely.

I recently befriended some new mentors of my own. They are very successful people. I enjoy working with them, talking to them and learning from them. Are they retired? Absolutely - that is, from traditional employment. They work for themselves Mentoring others. They have an incredible financial portfolio that allows them their freedom.

There's no retirement from living.

Live the adventure,

As always,

The Winning Team

I want to talk to you about the Wining Team.
What makes up a winning team?

• Strong Foundation
• A Mutual Goal
• Game Plan
• Open Communication
• Consistent Effort
• A Desire to Win
• Team Leaders and Mentors
• Experienced players
• Positive Motivation
• Support System
• Innovation
• Fun and enjoyable environment
• Celebration of Successes

This is the team that is rewarded with success. Not just once, but consistently. You see it all around you. Winning sports teams, many major companies, successful businesses. they all put these attributes to use in their organizations.

And the ones that don't, fail.

Doing it as a solo act is 100 times more difficult.

It can be a challenge getting on the right team. Sometimes you may feel stuck, working with others who do not share a common goal. Or working in a company where you feel like a number. And when that company fails, you get hit worst of all.

Many people have lost their jobs in recent months. Having a difficult time putting food on the table, making that mortgage payment. It's sad but true.

Their Teams have failed them. the Hundreds of Thousands who have lost their jobs is unthinkable. These are honest, hard working families who now have no where to go.

You may know some of these people, it may even be you.

--------------------------------------------
Now for the good news.

My team is reaching out to people like you who want to be a member of our winning organization.

I am currently looking for only 10 people to join us. You will be working directly with me and other team members on a consistent basis for the next 12 months. This is part time, 10-15 hours a week. This is your opportunity to create real change in your life.

This is not a quick decision, for you or for me. I am looking for serious team members that I can work with, and an as stated before, 10 is my magic number.

If you have interest in learning about my program, or would like to recommend someone, please send me your:

Name
Email Address
Phone

I will send you information on our program and discuss the options with you. If you are married, I would suggest that both of you review the information together.

At that point, we can make a mutual and informed decision to proceed.

Remember, I'm only accepting 10 people at this time so if you are serious about joining our winning team, do not pass this opportunity by.

I look forward to the conversation!

As always

Dinner in Hell's Kitchen!

I watch a show on TV called "Hell's Kitchen" with Chef Gordon Ramsay". It's a reality show about a group of up and coming chefs working their tails off to become the last one. Plus they get an opportunity to become a Head Chef at a glamourous hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

One of the contestants is Danny Veltri from Central Florida. (near where I live) Danny has worked his way into the final 2 spots. He works very hard, has confidence in what he does and understands how to play the game.

I recently tracked him down and he invited me and my daughter to stop in and say "hello" at his restaurant. (as you can imagine, the TV show was probably taped months ago).

I got to thinking about someone in his position.

A) If he wins he gets a bunch of money and a great job.

B) If he loses, he goes back to his regular job at his restaurant.

Right? Not necessarily.

I got a minute to speak with Danny at his restaurant and here is what I suggested to him:

"Hi Danny, Dave Pyke - great to meet you"
"I know you're busy with dinner service so I'll make it quick - I don't know whether you won or lost, but for me you have already won. You're in the public eye, people know you." He nodded in agreement. "You need to write a book ASAP. Put your experience of the show and your favorite recipes in it." He looked at me with a bit of a surprise. "Get the Chef to endorse it, and get yourself on Oprah and sell a million books. It's a win-win situation for you" That's a great idea he exclaimed....

_____________

The story here is that whether he wins the show or not, he still wins. He wins with experience, Of going for it. Making the effort to succeed. Many doors will open for him, not just the one in front of him (i.e. the show)

Take a look around yourself. There are Doors of Opportunity all around you. Open them all. Every one of them. Just like opening up a clam shell... one contains the pearl. You may have to open many of them until you find your pearl. It's out there. You'll find it.

Just like Danny who has many great opportunities to direct the course of his life, you do too. Keep opening the doors. Look around you 360°. Every opportunity will lead you somewhere. And that somewhere maybe just a bit better than where you are right now.

Go for it.

Dave Pyke - Your Goal Keeper

p.s. The dinner was delicious.

Achieve Your Real Big Goal Today!

Someone is going to achieve a Real Big Goal! Is that you?

It IS you! Your Real Big Goal can be achieved this month! Are you prepared for it? Are you Ready?

The answer is:

A) Yes! Absolutely!
B) If it happens, that would be great
C) It won't happen to me.

If you answered "A" then congratulations. You're very close to completing your goal and reap the rewards.

If you answered "B" then you're not taking your goal seriously.

If you answered "C" then you're still in front of the TV.

My point is this. Your success with your goals is directly impacted by your attitude and action. With the right mindset, you can achieve anything you want to. Seriously. I know you may have heard that from many of these "seminar speakers". What they say is true. You only have to act on it.

If you did answer B or C, you need to change your process to get to "A". Because "B" says you're not in control of your goals. And "C" says you are not in control of your life.

So which is it? It's your choice.

I pick "A" every time.

Now make this weekend the start of your Real Big Goal! Write it down. Do something every day toward it. One step at a time.

Your Goal Keeper,
Dave Pyke

Putting Goals in Perspective

Hi,
How are you? I hope the answer is "Great"!

For this weekend, I have another task for you and your goals.

PUTTING YOUR GOALS IN PERSPECTIVE
The old saying is "Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill"

Thats what most people do when thinking about their goals. They don't achieve them because they make them so much larger than they really are. And most of that thought is that it will take a long time to accomplish.

Is that really true?

Here's what I want you to do:
Write down your specific goal on the left side of the page, and then write down how long it will take, in Hours and minutes.

For Example:
Let's say that you have to clean out that old closet. You've been putting it off for years. Every time you look in there it just seems like a mess. You think to yourself, "Someday I'll get around to it. But its going to take forever".

If it really would take "forever" you'll never get around to it.

In reality, it would probably take you about 60-90 minutes.

That's it. 60-90 minutes.

It's certainly a lot more attainable than "forever" right? 60-90 minutes is easy.

Now let's make it fun -
1. get some old clothes on, so if you get dirty, it doesn't matter.
2. Make a pitcher of your favorite beverage: Iced Tea, Ice Water, Fruit Juice, etc.
3. Put on your favorite music (not TV - that will distract you from your job!)
4. And Clean that Closet!

In 60-90 minutes, you will have accomplished a great goal, enjoyed a cool drink, and listened to some great music.

It doesn't get easier than that. And you will feel great for your accomplishment!

-------------------------------
So take time this weekend, write down the actual time it takes to achieve a specific goal. Get into your fun suit, and go for it.

Let me know how it works for you!

As always,
David Pyke - Your Goal Keeper!

Winner or Loser? You Pick!

Hi, Great to be with you again.

Today's topic is Win or Lose.

Have you ever felt like a winner? On top of the world? Everything is great! What an accomplishment?

Think about that for a moment.
How does your body, mind and spirit feel about winning?
You're standing tall, big smile, confident and proud.

Awesome.

Now what about the other side?
Losing. Failure. Defeat.

Body is weak. Mind is confused. Spirit is broken.
You are holding your head down, sad, angry or upset.

Terrible.

If you had your choice, which would you pick?
Winner or Loser?

I'll take winner. Every time.

Winner = Finisher
Loser = Quitter

Finish. Don't Ever Quit.

Winner = Stand Tall, smile, powerful
Loser = Hunched over, sad, weak

Stand Up. Put your body at the position of winner. You'll feel like it.

Winner = Give a gift of joy or happiness to others. Participate.
Loser = Selfish. I want, I need. Alone

Get out there and have fun. Laugh.

Winner = I Will Do It, I Am Doing It, I Have Done It.
Loser = I Will Not, I Am Not, I Have Not.

Easy. No "Not's" and you're a winner.

You see my friend, being a winner is a lot easier than you think. You can be a winner in everything you do. To win is to love, laugh, enjoy the moment you're in. To participate with others and be nonjudgemental. To be the best you can be in the moment. Not tomorrow, not yesterday, but right now.

That makes you a winner.

A loser? There is no need to discuss it. Drop it. Let it fall away from you. You were never one to begin with.

Have a fantastic day today. Do something different. Something enjoyable. Put a smile on someone's face.

Because you are a winner!

Reinvent Yourself - Today!

Hi,
Glad to be with you again.

Once in a while it's really time to step up our game, but often we feel like we just don't have what it takes. When this happens, it's time to reinvent yourself!

Sure, pop stars and entertainers do it all the time. Oprah has done it several times. And she is the first to say so.

Create a new persona full of life and energy. Start out as the success story of the year. And by the end of the year that's what you will become.

I have been in advertising and graphic design for over 20 years. I've done all kinds of promotional work. I recently had a friend wanting me to create a press / promotional kit for his new book. It's his first.

So I did. It looks great. The book is not even finished yet... but that's ok! He can start promoting himself right away, getting out into the marketplace, on radio, interviews.

All because I helped him reinvent himself. He has a press kit that says who he is, and what he has accomplished. Kind of like a
resume with spice!

I'm currently working with another author, who has had a bestseller before, and now has a new offering. So we'll freshen up his image, put a new spin on things and hopefully he'll be back on top of the bestseller list again!

______________

Do you want to have a fresh look? Reinvent yourself. Have promotional items that shout out who you are, and what your real big goals are.

You may have noticed that there are many new "seminar speakers" out there. People with new programs to share with others as a new business opportunity. Some will succeed, but most will fail.

Why?

They are not promoting themselves with a media kit. Let people know who you are. Become the superstar and show yourself off! It's not just what you say or how you say it, it's what that fancy press kit says that shows you off!

Also, many up and coming people sell their programs in CD format with a binder full of information. They are getting hundreds of dollars for the information, all because it's bundled this way.

Think about it. You're buying someone's program for $497 because they have it all bundled in a convenient way for you to use it. Not only do they get a great package, but you receive a financial reward for your efforts.

______________

if you are looking to reinvent yourself and need some of these promotional items, please contact me. There is nothing I'd like more than to see you have every opportunity for success.

Get a promotional pack, reinvent yourself. Be the star, and show yourself off. I can help you do that.

David Pyke = Your Goal Keeper!

P.S.

He reinvented himself. He makes $30 million a year.

Can we have absolute confidence?

What is it that gives us confidence? Does it come in a bottle? Is it a lotion? How do we get it? It seems that many people, if not everyone needs this thing called confidence.

So that's when I started to think about how can can get it.

But that makes the assumption that we don't have it. Maybe we have it but don't know how to access it. Yes, that's it.

I know sometimes I've had it. And sometimes not. If I look at those situations, and try to make an analysis what I've done that makes me act with confidence and when not.

Act with confidence?

Is confidence an act?

If act, is short for ACTION, then yes. Confidence requires action.

But what kind of action... hmmmm... Doing a good job at something. Knowing what I'm talking about, Proceed without fear.

Ok, all those are confident acts. But I also noticed something. Confidence requires that there is interaction with someone or something else. It's like the value you put upon yourself to get the job done. And Confidence gives us a dose emotional courage and mental strength to deal with a problem.

So confidence resolves problems? Yes. It can.

Then what is a "problem"?

A problem is a judgement based on perception of an issue.

"I think we have a problem"
"It looks like that won't work"
"I hope that doesn't happen"

Confidence changes the perception to one of a positive nature:

"I know we can face this challenge"
"We can make adjustments, it will work"
"Change direction so we get what we want"

Do you notice that just by our judgement of something, or perception, that creates it's own reality? Confidence is the variable we have to create a positive perception.

But WAIT!!! Have not the great philosophers throughout history told us specifically:
Do not judge! Don't be Judgmental!

So if we do not judge a thing and put a label of good or bad on it, doesn't that mean I don't need to build confidence to change the perception?

The perception is what it is.
You have all the confidence you need.
You were born with it. It's already within you.

When you show lack of confidence, you fall into the trap of judging something.
You perceive it to be unattainable. You are in fear.
That is the illusion.

The reality is you are completely confident in everything you do.
Do not make judgements (this includes "mistakes" - a preconceived idea on the outcome that does not materialize)

Embrace your confidence. It's your natural state, free from all worry and doubt (judgements).

Now you can live your life to it's absolute fullest. Live the adventure. Shoot for the stars!
Because you can!

Set a goal, and go for it!

The Law of Expectations

Last evening I had the pleasure of hosting the call for the Persuasion Institute. The topic was "The Law of Expectation". Here's a snippet of that conversation:

-----------------
The Law of Expectations, or as I like to call it: “The Law of the Self Fulfilling Prophecy”.
Let’s first take a look at the word, expectation and what it means.

The dictionary defines it as:

“A strong belief that something will happen in the future”

or in the case of Persuasion,
“A belief that someone will or should achieve something”

Expectations have a powerful impact on the people we know and trust, especially on perfect strangers. People who know us already, know what kind of people we are, and how we act by our deeds, perfect strangers - only have the initial meeting to guide their assumptions.

So if we act and speak with purpose, we get the response that would be given such a person.

If we act or speak with weakness or doubt, then they automatically assume that we are unsure of ourselves.

So it’s in our best interest to monitor what we say, and how we say it, because it has a direct correlation on the outcome of our conversation.

I know that when I have a conversation with someone, I treat them with respect and sincerity, and receive it back. No matter what happens, I keep up this type of dialog. Sometimes when you deal with others, they may throw you a curve or two just to see what you’re made of.

When you stick with your sense of integrity, they will understand, in a very short time, that you command respect.

I show a sense of belief in people that I talk with.

I might say “You seem like a smart guy, I’d like to get your opinion on something”. Now when I use this phrase, the person thinks “hey, this guy respects my opinion” and will deliver a fair and honest answer back to you.

When you show expectation in someone’s ability, they get an air of confidence about them.

It’s funny, sometimes they may not believe it themselves, or have forgotten it, they recognize that you see it in them, and tend to act with more confidence. The action is expected.

When the expectations are not met, you can see anger, disappointment, or dissatisfaction.

We communicate our expectations in various ways. Thru our language using voice inflection, the pacing of our speech, and/or body our language.

Think of the great speakers, they command attention this way.

Ronald Reagan was known as the great communicator. Just by the tone of his voice and pace of his words, he made people listen. President Clinton was the same way.

Listen to the broadcasters on ESPN. Their pacing and inflection, dramatizes the action.

The Persuasion Institute holds seminars all around the country (and the world). I would like to put together some of these 3 day seminars in your area. This training is a valuable tool not only in business but in life.

Taking Your Own Advice

Hi,
Nice to be with you again. I have been thinking about what makes us work on our goals. There are so many things we could be doing right now other than that. Most people are dealing with their immediate need - it may be to eat, watch tv, read the paper, go to the store, call a friend. They don' t really have much to do with our goals. We get caught up in the day to day activities.

That's the problem, we don't take charge of our lives to create our amazing future. Why is that? Because most of us don't realize that we have the ability to achieve greatness.

I'm sure you know how easy it is to give advice to someone. You see this every day. All that conversation about "other people" and "what they should do" If these people were so smart, maybe they should take their own advice.

Take your own advice! That's right! You're smart enough to know what to do, but that doesn't mean "ME", right? Yes it does. Here's what I want you do do this week:

Take a look at yourself in an objective way. Refer to yourself as "a person who is loved" and give the advice to THAT person. (it is NOT you) Write it down. Be specific. Write as if the world depended on this person and how great this person would be if they took your advice. Write down the goals that they need to achieve in the following:

30 Days
90 Days
6 Months
1 Year
5 Years

Remember: You are writing about someone else, "a person who is loved". You have the knowledge and understanding what you think is best for them. Write as if this could your twin brother or sister. It is NOT you.

Once you have done this, Mail it to yourself (not email - letter mail). This will put the process out of your mind for a day or two. Check your mail in a few days and read that letter. You are now receiving great advice from someone who loves you more than anyone else.

Take that advice. And DO IT!

Write me and tell me what happens. This process has been known to create AMAZING results. You will achieve the same results!

Make today YOUR day! and tomorrow YOUR world.

Winning

Hi,
I trust all is well, and this week I want to talk about something that drives all of us - Winning.

I'm currently in Daytona Beach Florida, home to the biggest auto race in the NASCAR season, the Daytona 500. It's the Superbowl of stock car auto racing. Every racer dreams of winning this race. It sets them apart from the rest.

Now why do I mention all of this? Because it takes some very valuable personal skills to win this race, just as your personal successes have that same skill set.

1. Speed. You need to work efficiently and quickly to win the race. You cannot be a slacker. You cannot take extra time off of your goal if you really want to achieve it.

2. Focus. Find that straight line to your target and go. Do not slide around, going from one direction to another. Auto racers look for that line on the track that will get their car to the finish line the quickest. Find the line that works for you.

3. Passion. Auto racers love their sport. They don't do it exclusively for the money. They enjoy the thrill of the race. They love what they do. You also should love what you do. Be excited, be passionate about it. If you don't love what you do in life, you're missing the point. That's why it's called LIFE, not existence.

4. Risk. You have to take a chance. You have to do something different. You have to make the pass. Move forward. If you don't stay ahead of the "competition" you will never win. They win. Are you a winner? Say it with me: YES I AM!

5. Control. Learn what you can do, know your business or strategy and operate it successfully. Drivers know what their car is capable of. Understand how you operate and stay in control.

6. Teamwork. Nothing in auto racing is accomplished alone. It takes a team to win. A Driver, a Pit Crew, a Crew Chief, an Team Owner, Sponsors and more. Get your team together. Get a Mentor. Work together toward your goal, your victory. If you had a mentor on your team, would you find success?

As I'll see here on sunday at the Daytona International Speedway, 43 cars are in the race to win. You're in the race of your life. Be excited! Be challenged. Be passionate about it. Because when the race is over, and it will be for all of us one day, we can look back and say we did it all, with speed, focus and passion.

Enjoy the race!

David Pyke - Your Goal Keeper!

p.s. Keep your stories and words coming, and also post them here on the site for others to read! I really appreciate your feedback.
