Chivalry is NOT dead, yet

This goes out to all my male friends and the women who still believe.

"Chivalry is NOT dead, yet" is a quote I came up with about 20 years ago. I was at a restaurant heading toward the door and noticed that a couple was having an argument.

The man was acting like a fool and stormed out the door in front of me. The woman, completely embarrassed stood there, frustrated left all alone. She was smartly dressed, and carried herself in a regal way. I thought to myself, "He obviously does not know how to treat her properly, acting the part of the fool. He really must not think much of himself."

As I looked at her, she glanced at me, and tilted her head down, as if to say "I feel terrible." I approached her, and held out my hand, and said "Let me walk you to the door". We walked to the door, I stopped and opened the door for her. Stood aside and let her pass. As she walked past me, I could see her start to smile. As we were now both outside, she stopped and looked at me.

"Chivalry is Not Dead, yet" I said. Where it came from, I don't know. It was just the right thing to say in the moment.

She walked straight up to me, kissed me on the cheek and said "Thank you so much. The world needs real men like you!" and then she walked away.

Chivalry is not just for princes or knights in shining armor. Chivalry is an act of kindness and respect for the women we meet in our life. Chivalry gives us a sense of our true self.

Become a model of Chivalry, amazing things will happen in your life. This should be one of your goals. Work at it. Open the door. Show respect. Hold your head high. Move forward in your world with the eyes of a Chivalrous man.
